Reflection
I got the homework reading a book: 'Tuesdays with Morrie' during the summer vacation. This book is a story about Morrie who is a popluar professor of Brandeis University and Mitch who is Morrie's the last student.
Morrie Schwartz was humorous and loved students, music, and dancing. He enjoyed his life a lot. One day, a misfortune came to him. He was diagnosed amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS), Lou Gehrig's disease. This disease make people paralyze from the legs. Finally, the whole body couldn't move a little bit and feel the pain, and then he meet the death. Mitch Albom expected much from Morrie during his university life. He talked about many subjects with Morrie and promised to keep in touch with Morrie after the graduation. But he didn't. He wanted to be a musician. Otherwise his wish, the world didn't allow for him to be a musician. He always read a help-wanted advertisement. One day, he had a chance to think about the death. His uncle had taught to him music, how to drive and always tease about his girlfriends. Such a man died in a young age due to pancreaticcancer. After then, Mitch's life changed. He studied and worked very hard, and finally became a sports writer. Then, he gradually missed Morrie in his mind. In that way, Morrie and Mitch lived their own life, differently. One day, Mitch watched the TV and heard Morrie had ALS and decided to visit his house. And then, Morrie's the last class started with Mitch on Tuesdays. The main topic was life. Every Tuesday, they talked about 'Death, Family, Emotions, Money …… and so on.' They loved sincerely and made effects on each life. They recorded their 14 classes through the recorder. After Morrie passed away, Mitch wrote this book as their plan.
Actually, I felt boring at the first of the book. I thought it wasn't different from other books story about life that we could find easily at the bookstore. However, I realized it was my faults. I could get more than meaning of life. First, it was a real story, so I was moved. At the end of the book, my eyes was filled with tears. Second, it had humanity. Through this book, I could think about my parents, relatives, friends, and teacher. I thought Mitch was a real lucky man. Indeed, how many people could meet a real teacher in their life? Of course, there are so many great teacher, but it is difficult to talk and love like them. Lastly, I could think about the death seriously. Actually, I'm too young to think about them, but it lead to me much more valuable life, I believe.

Reflection

This story is about Adrian Mole aged 13¾ who is growing up and living in puberty. He writes his stories such as his family, friends, neighbor, and his love on his secret diary.

Adrian Mole is 13¾ -year-old British boy who lived with his parents. But relationship of his father and mother was so terrible, finally, they got divorced. His mother left his husband and son for Mr.Lucas who was their neighbor. Adrian became a motherless family. The family got into financial trouble, because of his father's unemployment. He indulged himself in debauchery. However, his mother came back to them ,at the end. Because Mr.Lucas treated her just like a sex object.

His grandma is one of the important people in his life. She helped him when his mother left. His dog sometimes received a lot of love, but sometimes was abandoned.

Pandora is his lover, girl friend. When she came to his school, he falls in love at one sight. Nigel is the best friend, unfortunately, Pandora and Nigel went out with. Adrian felt betrayal, however, at the end, Adrian and Pandora started to went out with during 'Red Sock's campaign.' Barry Kent always bother him at the school.

Bert Baxter is an old person who is another important person to Adrian. He is a little bit rude and dirty, but Adrian always likes him. Because of his unique personality, Bert usually be alone except Sabre. At the last of his life, Queenie appeared his fiance!


Actually, I filled with nervous, when I got this book, however, fortunately, I could read the book with interest. While I read the book, I always thought about my and my friends' 13-15 years old. In my memories, we didn't behave and think like Adrian, and I don't have any experiences serious puberty. So I cannot accept his diary easily. But another side, its content was emotion of love, school life, and fight with parent I felt intimacy at that point. After the final test, having time, I want to read the second book of 'The Secret Diary Of ADRIAN MOLE aged 13¾..'

Global Warming

There is a serious problem on the earth. It is 'Global Warming'. Global Warming is the gradual rise in the earth's temperature caused by high levels of carbon dioxide and other gases in the atmosphere. We must prevent it, so let's find the solution.

Firstly, we should plant the trees and flowers in the house, the park, and so on.
They inhale the CO2 and exhaust the O2. We can prevent the global warming getting worse this movement.

Secondly, we should take a means of public transportation. When we drive a car discharge the waste gas, so it make the global wormign serious.

There are a lot of way to prevent it, but the most important thing is our continuance concern.

Summary :

There are some movement for sustainable development which goal is to blance the needs of people with the protection of nature. For instance, called "green buildings" these environmentally friendly buildings are designed to save energy and water, and use harmless materials.

Let The Sunshine In

The big windows makes the building more greener. The sun cansupply light and natural heat. These designs reduce the use of light, and even save the extra electricity.

Gardens in the sky

Calhoun School has a garden on the rooftop. The garden has many beautiful flowers and grass. It prevent the sun's heat in the summer, plants and soil prevent heat the building from escaping in the winter.

Saving Every Last Drop

Many countries suffer from lack of water. So they reuse the water or save the rain in the tank.

Green Materials

The growing speed is too low compare with cutting down speed, so we should use bamboo,. And we Should use many recycled materials such as newspaper, glass, plastic milk container, and tire.

The Future Looks Green Indeed

Now, only few building has green features, but efforts of many cities, its number are increased.

comment :

In this article, I can know about many green buildings. i really want to change our school like these buildings. Maybe it cannot fulfil during my school days, But I believe someday it will come true. i feel pitiful I cannot see these buildings easily in my country, Korea. If we build these buildings, our cities will be more beautiful and wonderful.

School Uniform

I agree with wearing school uniform for some reasons.
Firstly, we can save money and time. If we don't wear school uniform, we will buy casual clothes and choose the clothes every moring.
Secondly, it makes you look clean when your in a group or community. People can know that your in that school or this school by looking at your uniform, and it saves the reputation of the schools pride when you wear your school uniform.
Lastly, when we don't wear school uniform, some students can feel a sense of incompatibility. And some wear strange clothes that don't look like a student.
For these three reasons, I agree with wearing school uniform.
